How We Spent Our Summer
October 2007

Hello, everybody!

Dillon and Jason here.  We just wanted to let everyone know what's been going on with us, our mommy and daddy, and our new baby brother Adrian.  You can click the picture above to see a bigger one if you want.  And then you can click on all the pictures on this page to see them in bigger size!

Dillon weighs about 35 pounds and is 40 1/2 inches tall; Jason weighs 30 pounds and is 38 1/2 inches tall.  Mommy & Daddy say we have healthy appetites and we always eat our vegetables!

Jason, Cole and DillonOver the summer, we went to a lot of places.  We visited Ocean City a few times with our Great Aunt Ann and Great Uncle Seth, and we got to play with their grandson Cole, too.  Mommy went with us and we had a lot of fun!  And then our Grandmom took us to the beach in Everybody but Adrian at Ocean CityOcean City all by herself!  For the whole day!  We think mommy was sad that she didn't go, but when we got home she seemed okay.  In early August, mommy and daddy took us to Wildwood, NJ (see photo up top) and then back to Ocean City at the end of the month where we got to stay in a hotel room, play on the beach, and walk on the boardwalk.  Oh! And we rode on lots of rides, too!  We love roller coasters especially, but we'll go on just about anything.

We went on lots of rides at the Maple Shade carnival, too.  The ferris wheel was really cool, and it took us up in the air really high!

Jason & Dillon at Hershey ParkWe almost forgot to mention Hershey Park!  Mommy, Daddy and Grandmom took us to Hershey Park the weekend after Labor Day.  We went on the runaway train and loved it!  Mommy and Daddy got to go on a few really big rollercoasters, but mostly we were going on the smaller stuff.  It was a really hot day, but it was fun taking the tour of the chocolate factory, and eating dinner in the food court there.  It was a long day, and we fell asleep about 10 minutes into the ride home!

Jason & DillonMommy, Daddy and Grandmom took us to Storybook Land, so we got to go on more rides there, like the flying elephant ride (see the picture?).  It's a lot of fun!  We brought our lunch with us and ate inside the park.  We also got to go to the Cape May Zoo to see all the animals there.  We brought a picnic lunch and ate outside in the park at a picnic table.  The seagulls were bothering us a lot, so we had to keep shoo-ing them away with sticks.

AdrianOur baby brother, Adrian, was born in May just before we finished up our first year of nursery school at St. Andrew's in Cherry Hill, NJ.  He's over four months old now and keeps mommy (and daddy) awake at night.  We hear him wake up late at night crying.  He never stops eating, so he must be hungry all the time.  Mommy says there were a few times when Adrian slept the whole night through, but not enough!  She'd like to get a full night's sleep at some point.  He rolls over a lot now, too.  He weighs about 10 pounds (he was 6 pounds 10 ounces on his birthday), and he's about 23 inches long.  We're getting over colds now, and we think that Adrian might have our cold now, too, because he has a really bad cough.

We started our second year of Nursery School at St. Andrew's in September.  Jason finally started using the potty for #1's and #2's, and he stopped having accidents.  It's a good thing he did, too, because they don't let kids who aren't potty-trained into the school this year.  We really like school a lot.  We have lots of fun with the other 18 kids in our class.  Last year there were only 10 kids in our class (including us), so we have a lot more friends now.  We make things, play outside, read stories, and have snacks.  We only go three days a week (Monday to Wednesday) from 12:30pm to 3pm, but Mommy says she likes having a break (whatever that means).  We also get invited to lots of birthday parties, too.

Since Adrian rides in his baby seat in the middle row of the minivan now, Daddy moved our seats to the back row.  We like it a lot.  Since Adrian faces backwards, we get to see him while we're riding, which is really neat.  In a few weeks, Daddy says we might be able to start using a booster seat instead of our car seats.  That will be cool!

Our birthday is coming up on November 5th, but not before Halloween gets here!  We don't know what we're going to be yet.  Today, we're thinking about being Superman and Spiderman, but yesterday we wanted to be dinosaurs.  We'll have to pick out our costumes soon, though, because Halloween is just around the corner!

Our Daddy and Pop Pop worked on our basement (Daddy says to click to see photos of the project) to make it into a play room.  It took a lot longer than they told us it would, but now we have a lot of toys down there and we can play with our cars, trucks, magnet board, chalkboard, and more!  Soon, Daddy is going to bring the futon couch down there and our play table & train set so we can build our trains down there.  Daddy is sad because he doesn't have his drum kit set up anymore.  We asked him if he was going to put it up again, but he said he didn't know if there was room for it anymore.  Maybe it's time for a bigger house!

We hear mommy talking about painting the kitchen and changing the upstairs bathroom, but we don't know when that will happen. We like the kitchen and don't see anything wrong with the bathroom, but I guess grown-ups like different things than us kids do!

Daddy started a new job at his work in July and he seems to like it so far.  He has to go to California on October 23rd for a "convention", so Mommy said she will go there the next day to keep him company until he comes home on Sunday, the 28th.  They get to ride on airplanes to go there.  Someday, we'll get to ride on one, too!  Mom Mom and Pop Pop will keep us at their house until Friday night, and then we'll go over to Grandmom's until Sunday.  Adrian is going to stay with Mom Mom and Pop Pop the whole time, though.  We hope Mommy and Daddy don't miss us too much, because we want them to have fun. We're going to miss them, but we know we'll have a fun time with our grandparents!

We hope you liked reading our family update!  We'll try to make sure we update it more frequently!

Love,

Dillon and Jason
